PIA ACHTERNKAMP / music and performance

Pia Achternkamp (aka "loh")  is a composer who is researching on the borderlands of music, performing arts, language and fine arts.

She interrupted her studies of philosophy at Humboldt University Berlin in order to dedicate herself fully to composition of music and soundscapes for theatre/dance projects. As she has always been curious about the interdependencies in sound, space, movement and dialogue, Pia is usually performing her music live on stage when working in the context of performing arts.

She presented her work in HAU Berlin, Maxim Gorki Theatre and ACUD with the director Asaf Hameiri and in Volksbühne Berlin with her performance/research group "Future Witchcraft Project".

With her solo project "loh" Pia is exploring the power of endless repetition and minimal variations. She developed a strong fascination for the phenomenon of silence in music.

Pia is part of a few bands:    CHRUCH /  grau&  /  Mildred /  Pomelo

SIEGMAR ZACHARIAS / dramaturgy and outside eye

Siegmar Zacharias’ works develop formats of performances, lectures, installations, juxtaposing theory and materiality. They are situated between labour and humour, do-it-yourself low tech and high-tech. They have been presented nationally and internationally in theatres, festivals, conferences, galleries, green houses, the woods, and up in the sky. Questions such as co-authorship, the function of the audience, affect- and experiential knowledge production are crucial to her work.

She has developed an artistic research that involves, experimenting with forms and formats of writing, drawing, real time text production, and engineering situations of knowledge production in the field of performance. This practice collides approaches from philosophy, with pop culture, science and para-science. Observing and realising the entanglement of the relations of human and non-human actors into an ecology of performance.
She initiated WOW – We work here, a research and exchange platform of Berlin based female artists, that engages in forms of articulating artistic practice through the specific perspective and conditioning of living and working in Berlin.

Siegmar teaches seminars and workshops colliding philosophical investigations with performance methodologies, regularly at DasArts, Amsterdam, DOCH, Stockholm, Folkwang Universität Essen, HZT Berlin.
